Re-inventing ImproveAble Feast

Re-inventing ImproveAble Feast

I have been working on ImproveAble Feast for many years. The site started as a place for cancer patients to get ideas for wellness strategies. I talked to people who have been diagnosed with cancer, then waited in fear, for up to a month for their next doctor’s appointment. During this time they stress about what they should be doing for their health. So to fill this void, I wrote wellness tips, what to do, recipes, meditation ideas, and general thoughts about the science of cancer treatments and cancer.

I went through my own health crisis recently. I spent 2 nights in the ER the week before Christmas. My body was fighting some type of infection,  I was severely dehydrated, my sodium levels plummeted, my muscles locked up, I knew I was in trouble, and in the middle of the night, I was taken to the hospital. The severity of my dehydration caused me to either hallucinate or get get in better touch with the Archangels, because that’s who I thought I was talking to. To this day, I can’t be sure what actually happened or didn’t happen to me. I do muscle testing, which is asking your body to tell you what is good or bad for you, and during my hospital stay, I thought I could muscle test for the newly elected president of the United States. I hallucinated that I read a news article that President Trump had lead poisoning, which caused him to act the way he did, tweeting in the middle of the night, and his compulsion to grab women.

After I was released, once the doctors determined I wasn’t on drugs or alcohol, my family physician met me the following day. She told me that she had been treating five other people who had gone through the same thing as me. Three of them died, and she expected a fourth to die. Her patients who passed away, were alcoholics, and chose not to stop drinking. My liver enzymes were tested during my ER visit, the enzymes were elevated, my white blood count was elevated, my body was trying to fight off something, trying to get rid of something, my digestive track was getting rid of something pretty nasty, but none of the tests that came back could tell us what that was. I bounced back from this episode pretty quickly, at least compared to the other patients my doctor had been treating. She reasoned that because I was in very good health, my body could handle the event.  I stopped drinking any alcohol for four weeks, but I also lost my appetite, and could barely eat, my digestive tract was out of balance, I was out of balance.

Right after I came home the second night visit at the Emergency Room, I was in bed, feeling like I could die. I actually felt my spirit almost lifting from my body. I fought so hard to stay here, I did not want to leave my family, I love them so much, and I have so much more to do here. I forced myself to get out of bed, and rubbed Pine Needle essential oil on my feet to ground me, I got back into bed, and I thought I could hear my spirit guides rejoice that I decided to stay in my body. I looked out my window, and saw a tree glowing as if it were on fire, and I felt God talking to me, a calm, reassuring message. I felt joy, and somehow I knew that I would be fine.

I try not to question weather those spiritual events happened to me, I tend to over think, and really what is the point. I can’t prove or disprove that I could hear my spirit guides, or that God illuminated the tree outside my window. I appreciate my friends who called me, or wrote to me. I appreciate my friend Philip Bautigam, who not only helps me with my website, and my product launch, but he skyped me from Hawaii while I was head down in bed, looking and feeling awful. He knows when to get me to work on ImproveAble Feast, and when to ease off. Almost a month later, I have been easing off enough, and it is time for me to get back to work.

I am changing things up a bit, this new me. I have been giving so much energy to people who are sick, and I want to flip that scenario. I want to give energy to being well, to being healthy. I am working with my husband on this project now. We have been married for nearly 30 years,my husband is an Opthamologist, he loves to cook, he loves to travel and explore new places, especially restaurants.  I am a yoga instructor, degreed in Environmental Communications, Reiki practitioner, and I also love to cook. Our differences compliment each other very well, and I married my best friend, so enjoy being together. Our new site, with the same name ImproveAble Feast, is going to be dedicated to attracting a joyful life, searching for healthy food trends, having fun while traveling, connecting to friends and family, and overcoming life’s hard obstacles that get thrown in your way.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us, we will try our best to bring inspiration to your life through food, friends, travel, and wellness.

My Best,

Patty
