14 Jan The Food and Wrinkle Connection
When you start to appreciate smooth youthful skin comes at a time in our lives when we have to fight for it. Every advertised product that makes a claim to improve you skin becomes, hmmm, pretty tempting. The truth is that all the wrinkle cream, fruit melon hydroxy concoctions, corporate promises whispered to us through beautiful young models, or air brushed magazine covers and ads, are not going to stop the process of aging. Unless, you start to think beyond the creams and commercials, and realize the the start of your fair complexion journey starts with the food on your table.
I just ran into a friend the other day who I hadn’t seen in quite a while. I remember her 20 years ago, as a beautiful young mother, who always had a diet soft drink in her hand, the large kind, the drink that is. One of those reusable mega cups from a convenience gas stations that was constantly filled with diet liquid cola. Now 20 years later, her skin is deep with wrinkles, and I believe there is a connection.
The more toxins that we ingest, the more toxins we begin to store in our cells. Our organs that once managed to eliminate those toxins out of our systems, can’t keep up with the rate of garbage coming in. Instead of taking the trash out, that trash gets swept under the rug. It goes into places like our joints (arthritis) , under our skin (liver spots), and into our brains (Alzheimer’s)
When that garbage accumulates in our cells, then our cells aren’t able to let nourishment in. Those cells become shrunken while the cells around them are plump. That’s called a wrinkle. A cream is not going to fix the underlying problem, just like spraying a chemical air freshener in a room full of trash is not going to take the trash out. The room might smell better for a little while, but the trash is still there. Plus when you “fix” the problem with creams, you are probably adding more toxins on top of the toxins already in your skin. Acrylamide has been linked to Breast Cancer. DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine, and TEA (triethanolamine) have all been banned in Europe due to the toxic effects of their long term use. Fragrances can also be carcinogenic, or cause problems of the nervous system.
The answer starts with preventing the toxins from entering our bodies in the first place. That means first of all, eating organic foods, drinking healthy drinks. Moderation. On top of that, we need to actively pull toxins out of our bodies, cleansing the gut, boosting liver health. Sweating toxins out through exercise. Learning about Chelation, and colonics to really clean out your system like you’ve never been cleaned before. I know no one is perfect, I’m not either, I like to have my sweets now and then, but I also know that getting toxins, and gunk out of your cells reverses the aging of cells in a real way. It’s up to you, do you want a room that’s full of trash, but cosmetically smells good, or do you want to take the trash out? If you decided to take the trash out, congratulations, you are on a path that could take you to the best health of your life!
